Dr. Roy’s path to facial plastic surgery excellence began at Stanford University. There, he was recruited to the Glenn Center for the Biology of Aging, a research laboratory funded by the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute on Aging. The team’s groundbreaking research on aging and muscle stem cell regeneration was published in Science, launching Dr. Roy’s prolific career as an author of numerous book chapters and medical manuscripts.

He went on to graduate at the top of his class at New York Medical College, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. His postdoctoral training included 5 years in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, which is consistently ranked among the nation’s best programs.

Dr. Roy further advanced his expertise through a highly competitive fellowship with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS)—an honor awarded to only 45 surgeons nationwide each year.

Beyond the Operating Room

A classically trained vocalist, Dr. Roy has performed internationally as a soloist and tenor with Stanford’s renowned a cappella groups. This included performing as lead tenor in Stanford’s oldest and most established a cappella group, The Stanford Mendicants, as well as Stanford Raagapella, a South Asian fusion group he founded at the university. Today, this “singing surgeon” occasionally lends his voice at weddings and special events, sharing the same passion and dedication he brings to his surgical practice.

At home in the Bay Area, Dr. Roy enjoys life with his wife, also a physician, and their 3 sons.
