You’re busy and your time is scarce. We get it. Consultations are the only way to design a treatment plan to achieve your goals, and now we’re offering virtual consultations (and even appointments in some cases!) to make it easier to squeeze skin care and pampering into your busy schedule. RefinedMD is offering a safer alternative for both medical dermatology appointments as well as esthetic consultations that allow patients to have a video conference-based visit with a RefinedMD practitioner. We are currently using HIPAA compliant Zoom for all virtual appointments. Learn how to join a Zoom meeting.

Types of Appointments

Depending on health insurance status, telemedicine visits for medical dermatology (for both new and established patients) may be covered by your insurance, but require a $100 deposit at the time of scheduling. Virtual aesthetic consultations, both surgical and non-surgical, are $50 for all patients.

Esthetic Consultations

Cost: Complimentary with a patient coordinator. $50 with a Nurse Practitioner. Due at the time of appointment booking.

Meet with our Esthetic team and talk about ways to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, minimize brown age spots, discuss facial aging, and even review dermal fillers, B0tox, and other popular body contouring treatments. Esthetics consultations are free to speak with a patient coordinator, and $50 to speak with a Nurse Practitioner.

 

Facial Plastic Surgery Consultations

Cost: $50 due at the time of appointment booking

Schedule a virtual consultation with Dr. Sudeep Roy for $50 to discuss popular surgeries including facelift, eyelid surgery, brow lift, and more. As a board certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Roy is highly qualified to learn about your goals and put together a treatment plan. After your virtual consultation, Dr. Roy may meet you for a face to face consultation.

Medical Dermatology Appointments

Cost: $50 (existing patients) / $100 (new patients) due at the time of appointment booking

What’s that thing? Well don’t wait to find out. You can now book a telemedicine appointment at RefinedMD. Although telemedicine medical appointments are covered by your insurance, all visits require a $100 deposit. You’ll be able to address medical needs such as acne, melasma, eczema, sunburns, rosacea, psoriasis, and more.

For Existing Patients

For existing patients, medical, and facial surgery appointments/consultations require a $50 deposit. Esthetics consultations are free with a patient coordinator and $50 with a Nurse Practitioner. For medical appointments, the $50 payment will apply toward copays and coinsurance.

For New Patients

For new patients, facial surgery consultations require a $50 payment. Esthetics consultations are free with a patient coordinator and $50 with a Nurse Practitioner. Medical appointments require a $100 deposit and will be credited toward any patient financial responsibilities.

A Note Regarding Health Insurance

Do you have insurance? No problem – we accept a variety of health insurance and will be happy to bill your insurance for you as a courtesy. The deposit will be collected to make your appointment, however, we will process your insurance to cover any patient responsibility and then refund any remaining balance.

Patient Safety Protocols

We are taking your safety seriously, and that’s why everyone will be wearing a mask. We invite you to see our new COVID patient safety protocols and learn what you can expect from a visit to our office. We’ve added all kinds of cool stuff including:

  • Formal training for returning clinical staff on COVID-19 control and prevention strategies, as well as the provision of fitted mask respirators (N-95 and P-100)
  • Daily COVID-19 screening for all staff members
  • Widely available hand sanitizer and hand-washing stations for patients and staff
  • Installation of high-efficiency air purifiers as well as a state-of-the-art ultraviolet air “scrubbers” to ensure the highest sanitary conditions in common spaces and treatment rooms
  • Cleaning of all surface points of contact throughout the day with approved sani-wipes before and after each patient contact
  • Widely available hand sanitizer and hand-washing stations for patients and staff
  • Mobile check-in and check-out for our patients, including temperature and symptom-based screening prior to entrance
  • Telemedicine visits for all new medical dermatology patients and Virtual Consultations for new non-surgical and surgical aesthetic visits

Pre-Visit Changes

We will be limiting the number of patients entering the facility to comply with social distancing recommendations. New patient paperwork and medical history forms will be sent and expected to be completed online by patients prior to their appointment. 

Pre-Screening Questions

Pre-screening COVID-19 symptom questionnaires (requiring verbal attestation) will be sent during appointment confirmation contacts and will include the following questions:

  • Have you or a member of your household traveled out of state within the last 14 days?
  • Have you or a member of your household participated in any social gatherings (of more than 10 people) in the last 14 days?
  • Have you or a member of your household experienced dry cough, fever, or shortness of breath within the last 14 days?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, please call our office so we can coordinate rescheduling your appointment. Rescheduled appointments will take place at least 2 weeks after the initial appointment.

Additional Precautions

Patients are required to wear a face mask to the office.

Telemedicine and virtual consultations will continue being offered when appropriate; we recommend virtual visits for EVERY NEW PATIENT and those with questions about their upcoming treatment appointments.

A “no-touch” temperature check and COVID-19 screening questionnaire will be performed on every patient, and if passed, patients will be roomed directed upon entrance into the office; should patients arrive at the office and not meet entrance criteria, they will be asked to return to their vehicle and call our office for a telephone assessment so that we do not expose other patients and staff and appointments can then be rescheduled as appropriate.

At-home numbing kits will be available for hands-free pick up upon request.

Patients will be expected to be seen alone unless, in case of a minor, a caregiver is needed with them at the visit, and companions should wait in the car or outside the office; unfortunately, no outside pets will be allowed.

Post-Visit Changes

  • Mobile check-out and payment will be available to facilitate a safe and efficient discharge from the practice.
  • Email communication will be encouraged for additional questions post-treatment or via text message to limit in-office exposure time.
  • Everyone will be given access to “TouchMD,” our state-of-the-art patient education system for information related to recommended treatments.
