14 Jan For Kris Jenner, Another Facelift is Just Another Day
Is a facelift a one and done procedure? It’s one of the most common questions we get at RefinedMD for those considering plastic surgery, and there’s no singular answer. For many people, a full facelift provides results that they are happy with for life—others prefer a “pick me up” after a few years. However, if you are considering a mini facelift, which is often recommended for those in their 40s, it is very likely you will want a full facelift in about 10+ years. Everyone’s body and skin are different, and everyone has different lifestyles and genetics. But one thing is certain: when it comes to Hollywood, celebrities tend to top up their facelifts more so than the general public. That includes Kris Jenner, the Kardashian matriarch who many suspect just got another facelift.
The rumors started swirling when a photo of Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, and Mariah Carey was posted on Instagram. Fans immediately started talking about Jenner getting “another facelift” given that the 68-year-old star looked “different” than before. Of course, looking “different” is nothing new for this family. Look at Jenner from the early 90s and there’s no denying her appearance has shifted drastically. It’s tough to trace exactly when alleged surgeries began for Jenner, but many speculate that her first facelift took place when Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered. Like some of her daughters, Jenner has repeatedly denied the claims of getting a facelift (and nose job in the past), but that’s par for the course for many celebrities. It’s unfortunate since we still have strides to make when it comes to dismantling the taboos that stubbornly persist around plastic surgery.
The IG Post That Sparked a Debate
The Instagram pic in question was posted by her daughter when the two went to hear Carey sing last month. In addition to looking “different,” fans were quick to point out that the latest alleged surgery wasn’t doing Jenner any favors. Some called it lopsided while one said, “Kris is trying to look like she’s 12.” There is truth in the “too much of a good thing” trope, and even when celebrities have access to endless funds (and surgeries), collaborating with a renowned surgeon to achieve a natural-looking outcome is a must for anyone.
Last month, a plastic surgeon for celebrities based in New York shared his ideas on the many surgeries he suspects Jenner has had done. When talking to the Daily mail, he estimates that Jenner has spent “over six figures” in plastic surgery (which, of course, is a drop in the bucket to her). According to the surgeon,
She looks great for her age, but Kris has definitely had some help along the way. I would say that Kris has had the most work done out of all the Kardashians. To begin with, she has most likely had some type of facial rejuvenation to the lower face and neck, possibly a facelift.
Given her age in comparison to her children, this is no surprise. Most people find they need more help feeling and looking their best as they get older—the secret is striking that balance between youthfulness and going too far. That’s where the right surgeon makes all the difference.
A Six-Figure Face
When asked why the surgeon thinks Jenner has had so much work done, he replied, “I would just assume she has had one [facelift] because of her age and as she had had this much work done already, she would likely want some tightening.” He also pointed out that she has much fuller cheeks lately, which suggests either surgical augmentation or fillers (or both).
Jenner has been very open about injectables, saying, “Who doesn’t love Botox?” in 2019. She has also been open about her at-home skin care regimen, claiming that it’s simple but does the trick, citing routine massages, facials, and Botox to complement what is surely medical-grade skin care products. While the Kardashians have had to (ahem, been forced) to own up to some surgical procedures (such as breast implants), in other areas they are keeping quiet. Kris Jenner has always been adamant that she has not had a nose job—and that none of her children have—but Khloe fessed up to it in recent years.
Ultimately, we must ask: does it matter what a person has had done? The good news is that most patients aren’t in the spotlight and being constantly monitored and critiqued by strangers. Today’s facelifts can be discreet and natural-looking with the right surgeon.
