13 Jul LaseMD vs. Clear + Brilliant
We are known for having one of the largest suites of lasers in the area—which one is best for you? It depends on your skin condition, skin type, and goals, but sometimes mixing and matching lasers results in the best outcome. At RefinedMD, we keep only the best, safest, and most effective lasers on hand to treat every skin condition (and skin type). Two of our most popular are LaseMD and Clear + Brilliant. These are two very different lasers, so let’s take a look at what each of them can do (and if one of them is the right fit for you!).
LaseMD is one of the latest laser resurfacing technologies available. It is a non-ablative fractional laser that is gentle enough to be used on all skin types year-round. Some lasers are too aggressive for summer months, but LaseMD is suitable for this season. It has shown to yield remarkable results on the arms and hands, neck, and upper chest. LaseMD is an excellent choice to undo years of skin damage.
How LaseMD Works
As a resurfacing tool, LaseMD heats up the skin’s deep tissue layers while simultaneously keeping the surface skin intact. It creates microchannels to stimulate collagen and elastin production, the two key proteins that are essential for youthful healthy skin. We create less collagen and elastin as we get older, which leads to lines, wrinkles, and sagging, but collagen induction therapies like LaseMD can reinvigorate collagen production.
A ”full” resurfacing treatment with LaseMD typically takes less than 30 minutes and can remove up to five years of aging. Skin is left glowing, clearer, and revitalized. LaseMD is known for being able to treat a myriad of common concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin, poor texture, sun damage, and other blemishes, and is even an effective treatment tool for melasma. The treatment is quick, customizable, and best of all there is no downtime.
What to Expect with LaseMD
LaseMD is a lunchtime treatment and you can expect to see significant results 10 days post-treatment. These results will continue to improve for three months. There are three levels of LaseMD, with 1 being the mildest to boost vitality. Level 2 is ideal for moderate sun damage and light lines. Level 3 is the most intensive and is suitable for treating sagging skin, moderate lines, acne scars, and severe sun damage. You can expect redness for a few hours after level 1, a couple of days after level 2, and up to one week with level 3 (coupled with some flaking).
The Clear + Brilliant Difference
Clear + Brilliant is a gentle technology that is ideal for pre-juvenation. It is known for repairing damaged skin, leaving clients with a beautiful glow. There is only one level with this laser, and it takes about 30 minutes for the full treatment. Similar to Level 1 of LaseMD, you might notice a little redness for a few hours after your treatment, but most Clear + Brilliant clients immediately get back to their day. Clear + Brilliant is the gentlest of lasers, capable of undoing sun damage and the earliest signs of aging.
Similar to some other gentle treatment, such as microneedling, Clear + Brilliant is best used as a routine procedure. Most clients schedule sessions every 4 – 6 weeks in order to get and keep optimal results. Although you will see a stunning outcome after just one session, ongoing Clear + Brilliant treatments are best. This laser is gentle enough to be used on men and women of any skin type, but is typically preferred by younger people in their twenties without significant signs of aging or sun damage.
