03 Aug Average COVID-19 Pandemic Weight Gain is 29 Pounds: Emsculpt NEO to the Rescue!
According to the annual “Stress in America” report from the American Psychological Association (APA), 42 percent of Americans say they’ve gained weight during the pandemic. Fortunately, RefinedMD offers a variety of options to blast fat, including Emsculpt NEO. It’s the latest generation of Emsculpt, only instead of “just” building muscle without lifting a barbell, it also literally burns away fat non-invasively! Over 3,000 adults were polled in the APA survey, and researchers say that the average weight increase was a whopping 29 pounds. That’s four complete pants or dress sizes! Half of all respondents say they gained over 15 pounds and an incredible 10 percent reported over 50 pounds.
More women than men reported an unwanted weight increase (45 percent of women compared to 39 percent of men). However, men gained more weight than women on average with 37 pounds compared to 22. Younger respondents were more likely to experience unwanted weight gain with 52 percent of Gen Zers gaining weight compared to 48 percent of Millennials. However, Gen Zers gained an average of 28 pounds while Millennials added 41 pounds, so Millennials were hit harder when it came to the amount of weight gained.
Weight Gain By the Numbers
On average, Hispanic adults were the likeliest to report weight gain with an average of 28 pounds. Black respondents gained more weight at 35 pounds on average than white adults, who were at 30 pounds. Over half of essential workers and/or parents reported weight gain with 36 pounds for parents and 38 pounds for essential workers. Weight gain is of course related to stress—and it can be a challenge to maintain or lose weight when you don’t have routine access to the gym. There’s also the sleep component. Good sleep is critical for weight management, and about 66 percent of people said they slept less during the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, not all numbers are discouraging! Other studies show that 90 percent of men and 60 percent of women not only want to get rid of fat but also want to build muscle—and that’s exactly what you get with Emsculpt NEO. It’s the first and only non-invasive solution to bust fat and build muscle in 30-minute sessions. Using a combination of radiofrequency and high-intensity electromagnetic energy, it’s like going to the gym and performing an insane cardio and strength-building routine while you kick back and relax.
The Emsculpt NEO Difference
Emsculpt, the original BTL technology, instantly garnered celebrity fans because it forces muscles into 20,000 supramaximal contractions in just 30 minutes. Capable of targeting muscles in a way no workout can, it achieves the equivalent of 20,000 crunches, bicep curls, lunges, squats, or other favored strength routine without breaking a sweat. The truth is that muscles get bigger (toned) when they are exposed to these types of contractions—but they don’t really care how that happens. Your muscles don’t know the difference between Emsculpt and weightlifting, so why put in all the work and take all those gym risks when you don’t have to?
However, there’s no point in building muscle if you can’t show off the results. Too much fat on top of muscles hides them, and that’s where Emsculpt NEO comes in. It gives clients the best of both worlds: less fat and more muscle. Even better, the radiofrequency that’s used for fat-busting actually gets rid of those fat cells for good! It’s not technically a fat-loss treatment because the amount of pounds lost is minimal. Rather, it’s a fantastic tool for contouring and sculpting the body when you’re close to your goal but need that extra push to get past a plateau.
What’s New with NEO?
As you can see, there’s a lot Emsculpt NEO can do that its predecessor couldn’t! Not only does it burn fat, but it’s also suitable for clients with a BMI up to 35. That means more clients can enjoy the benefits of this BTL technology and just in time to get out of the pandemic slump. It’s understandable that the COVID-19 pandemic caused undesired weight gain, but we have the tools to help.
