Overview of BTL Technologies: Which is for You?

BTL is the maker of revolutionary non-invasive procedures for all of your body contouring and sculpting needs. Whether you want to get more toned muscles, lift and tighten the face, minimize cellulite, or even get help with incontinence, BTL has the solution—and at RefinedMD, we offer the full suite of BTL technologies. Let’s start with the first and arguably most famous BTL option: Emsculpt. This is the original technology that celebrities love and is available to everyone. Here’s how it works.

Emsculpt is designed to contour the body. It works by externally stimulating the muscles, forcing them into 20,000 supramaximal contractions in just 30 minutes. For your body, it’s the same as doing 20,000 perfect lunges, crunches, squats, or other such move. That’s exactly what you’re doing with strength training exercises or manual labor: making muscles contract in a certain way. These contractions cause tiny tears in the muscle fibers, which teach your body to repair itself and get stronger so that it can withstand a similar force in the future. These are the good kind of tears, and when the muscles repair themselves it’s with a good kind of scar tissue that tones or “bulks” in just the right spot.

Similar to working out at the gym, you aren’t going to see immediate results with Emsculpt. After about one month, some improvement will be visible. Most people require around 4 – 6 sessions spaced one month apart. Then, maintenance sessions every six months will help you keep that look. Emsculpt isn’t an alternative to strength training, but complements it. It can be a great way to get ready for a new workout regimen or take your current routine to the next level.

Emface Tightening

Emface works in much the same way as Emsculpt, but on a smaller scale. As the name suggests, it targets the face—but this isn’t about toning the face. Instead, when you “work out” certain facial muscles it results in a lifting and tightening effect. Only some muscles of the face are targeted with Emface. The muscles that drag down the face are not touched at all.

Emface can be a fantastic complement to other procedures such as Botox and fillers or can work great by itself. It’s a preferred solution for those who want an all-natural approach, and works very similarly to face yoga (though with Emface, the tech does all the work while you sit back and relax!).

Emsella for Incontinence

Anyone can struggle with incontinence, and it’s often caused by a weakened pelvic floor. This can be particularly true for post-partum women who find they “leak” when laughing, coughing, sneezing, or just when going about their daily routines. The pelvic floor is comprised of muscles, and when you strengthen these muscles then incontinence improves.  There are pelvic strengthening moves that you can do, but they can be difficult to get right and tough to know if you’re “doing it right.” Enter Emsella.

Emsella, just like all BTL technologies, is completely non-invasive. You keep your clothes on during the treatment. It’s a means of strengthening this tough-to-target area comfortably and quickly. If you’re struggling with a weakened pelvic floor and want a fast solution, Emsella might be for you.

Emtone for Cellulite

Emtone is the only BTL technology that isn’t all about muscle targeting. Instead, it minimizes the appearance of cellulite by delivering a combination of mechanical and thermal energy to the site. There are a few other devices on the market that help cellulite with thermal energy, but Emtone gives you a double dose of help. Many factors go into the development of cellulite, such as hardened fibrous bands and fat squeezing through this matrix. Emtone tackles them all.

So, which BTL treatment is right for you? If you answered all of them, you’re not alone! Wanting a stronger, more toned body, lifted face, less cellulite, and a stronger pelvic floor is a wish list for many. Whether you want a customized hybrid BTL regimen or just one of these treatments, we have you covered. Schedule your consultation or appointment today.
